The latest news for the loyal watchers of the Sri Asih film, which was originally scheduled to air on October 6, 2022, has been officially postponed to November 17, 2022. Upi, the director and writer of the film Sri Asih conveyed the announcement of this postponement of the show through an open letter uploaded on Sri Asih's official social media and personal account.

"Friends, it's hard for me to convey this. But I have to do it to give the best for my friends." said Upi, director and writer of the film Sri Asih, through a caption on his social media, Instagram (4/10).

His upload was met with comments from many social media users who were also waiting for the Sri Asih film to air. There are also many national celebrities and actors who encourage and enthusiastically wait for the release schedule of this film.

September 2020, Joko Anwar as a screenwriter with Upi as an executive producer at Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, has confirmed that the villain Sri Asih in the film will be played by the Citra Cup-winning actor even though his name has not been published.

Filming for the film first started on November 18, 2020, after a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it was temporarily postponed again in December 2020 due to the film's main character, Pevita Pearce, who tested positive for COVID-19. Finally, Sri Asih film finished shooting on April 1, 2021 for a total of 67 days.

After the shooting process was completed, Sri Asih, which was originally scheduled to air in November 2020, was postponed to 2022 because it required more thorough preparation. Then on July 6, 2022, the first official teaser for the film Sri Asih was released. Following on September 6th, the trailer and full cast list was released.
