Mobile Legends Bang Bang

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) or Mobile Legends is the initial title to be declared as an award game in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games' inaugural esports tournament (SEA Games).

At its core, Mobile Legends pits two teams of five against each other, with the goal of destroying the opponent's base. Each player chooses a hero at the start of the game. Each hero has a distinct set of abilities and skills. The game currently has 92 heroes divided into six roles: tank, fighter, assassin, marksman, support, and mage.

These roles define each player's responsibilities for their team members. Support heroes, for example, have the ability to boost up or regenerate their teammates. That is why they should remain loyal to their allies in order to keep them safe or powerful in battle.

In addition, players must level up their heroes by beating enemy fighters, especially machine minions, turrets, and heroes. This receives them in-game profit, which they may ’ve spent on items that increase their heroes' stats.

Since its initial release, the game has reportedly received over 500 million downloads and 75 million active players. Much of its popularity stems from Southeast Asia, where its game has emerged as a major esport.

MLBB Professional League, for example, is a Mobile Legends esports league in the Philippines. It just finished its fourth season, with Sunsparks taking the championship and the lion's share of the $54,000 jackpot.

Meanwhile, non-professional players have MLBB LIGA, a street combats event in which fans compete for rewards and bragging rights. Outside the country, the MLBB World Championship 2019, or M1, includes 16 pro teams from 14 different countries.
